Enter the title of the category that you are creating.

Alias

Text

Enter an alias for the category. This field is used to form Search Engine Friendly (SELF) URLs. In the absence of alias field, Joomla takes Name field in the URL, which is not suitable, specially for the Non-Latin character names. You can define the alias field so that it makes the URL keyword rich and search engine friendly.

Published

Yes/No

If set to Yes, the added category gets published.

Section

Label

Appears as N/A by default.

Sections and categories provide an optional method for organizing your articles. A Section contains one or more categories, and each category can have articles assigned to it. One article can only be in one category and section.

Category Order            

Dropdown

Select the position at which the category will be displayed in the category list. This dropdown is enabled only after you save the changes while adding a category. By default, a newly added category is displayed at the last position.

Access Level                            

List

Select the access level of the category. Joomla controls access to certain areas and features of a site through the use of a Access Control Level mechanism called Groups.

Groups behave as placeholders for access levels, which are directly related to the creation, editing and publishing of content through the front-end and back-end interfaces. For example, the Manager group has 'Special' access level. Thus, the Manager Group can manage website content, but cannot manage users.
